Enterprise Transformation: Facilitate Digital and Transformative Change Through Enterprise Architecture Leadership

Enterprise architecture is a discipline that plays a significant role as the glue that binds an organization’s business processes, people, and systems to its strategy and mission. In order to do this, the enterprise architecture team must exhibit a leadership role within the organization, must be able to collaborate with different stakeholders from executive leaders to systems developers, and be able to facilitate the digital transformation of a business. These efforts are hindered by challenges ranging from lack of processes and institutional investment to a communication process that is not seamless or is broken. These problems can be solved using solutions such as robust stakeholder management, cross-functional workshops, and process re-engineering among others. These solutions combined will enable the enterprise architecture to overcome these challenges and provide the organization with a vehicle to ensure that all business processes are optimized to run seamlessly and efficiently, implement the proper safeguards and institutional policies, and most importantly are traceable to the strategy and mission of the organization which they serve.
