Bedside Report and Patient Satisfaction

Communication is an essential skill for nurses. This study focuses on the changes in patient satisfaction when nurses on medical-surgical units perform bedside shift reports. Shift reports being done at the bedside is a technique many facilities are starting to implement into their procedures. This study will look to see how having shift reports done at the bedside instead of elsewhere will increase patient satisfaction. The research found in this study concluded that patients were more satisfied when shift report was done at the bedside and had a positive impact on wellbeing and safety of the patient.
