The Economic Value of Milk Components in the Northeast

How much of a producer’s gross receipts from selling milk is derived from its components? What is the economic value of one additional pound of fat, protein, or other solids? We will review income and costs associated with producing milk components in Federal Order 1 over the last 5 years.
