Using AI-Powered Wargaming to Advance Stakeholder Theory

Scholars have established the need for a theory of stakeholder governance and emphasized the necessity of reconsidering how stakeholder governance is theorized, taught, and practiced. This is referred to as a “hard problem” with no obvious solution. We propose using digital twins and AI-powered wargaming to study stakeholder behaviors, reactions, and interactions. This approach can help address the challenges associated with developing a stakeholder theory of governance, as traditional methods, such as retrospective interviewing and case study analysis, are non-repeatable and often limited by the sheer complexity and dynamism of real-life stakeholder interactions.
