Shakespeare and Elizabethan Telescopy (2009)

Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada 103, no. 1 (2009): 16–18. https://www.rasc.ca/sites/default/files/publications/JRASC-2009-02-hr.pdf

The paper presents evidence that Shakespeare knew of properties of the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars that only telescopy reveals. The paper by Michael Gainer follows this one directly. Professor Gainer has built a Perspective Glass according to the prescription of Thomas Digges through which he can see most of the phenomena reported by Shakespeare. The Gainer paper follows at pages 18-21. https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/#abs/2009JRASC.103...18G/abstract
