Helicopter Parenting as Intervention

OBJECTIVES Groundwork: Helicopter parenting has expanded into post-adolescent years. College students are discriminated against in housing markets. Can the former impact the latter? Question: Does helicopter parenting affect a student’s ability to gain access in college rental markets? Approach: Simulated e-mails targeted landlords; parental intervention improved probability that a college student obtained rental access in a college housing market.
