GLP-1 Agonist in Middle-Aged Obesity Versus Standard Diet and Exercise Effects on BP and HR
Four research articles were reviewed: three quantitative and one qualitative study. The goal was to evaluate the potential risks of using GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) to lower blood pressure and heart rate and promote weight loss in middle-aged obese adults compared to a standard diet and exercise regimen. The findings reveal a positive correlation between GLP-1 receptor agonists and weight loss and blood pressure reductions. However, further research is necessary to investigate any long-term complications related to the increased heart rate associated with GLP-1 RAs.
