KPI Chapter
In this case study we take a look at a number of key performance indicators being used to inform decisions at The Pennsylvania State University Libraries. This chapter discusses new initiatives around collection management and prioritization towards digitization, as well as open educational resources. Finally, we discuss some of the more fully-developed metrics used to inform the strategies and decision making for electronic resources. We have found that it is most useful to separate journals based on funding sources before comparing their performance metrics to “level the playing field” for the evaluation. Additionally, if we combine several metrics we are able to predict metrics on usage to indicate potential value for these resources.
