Privacy Literacy: Slaying the Literacy Hydra

In today's complex information ecosystem, librarians are increasingly tasked with addressing a multitude of literacies – from media to AI – as we strive to educate our user populations and demonstrate our value. This growing list of literacies can feel daunting and maybe even a little out-of-scope at times, potentially contributing to imposter syndrome and burnout.

Join librarians, Alex and Sarah to explore privacy literacy and slay the literacy hydra! Learn how to apply privacy literacy as an intersecting, all-encompassing literacy that marries these many information literacy approaches under librarians' unique value system. Presenters will share their ethical, human-centered approach to privacy literacy and several practical applications that intersect with a variety of literacies including digital, media, health, algorithmic, AI, and more!
