Creating a Scoped eJournal List of Biomedical Journals in a Large University Setting: A Case Study

The Harrell Health Sciences Library: Research and Learning Commons (HHSL) at the Penn State College of Medicine has access to a wide range of library resources through the university but maintains an eJournal list of titles scoped to biomedical content. The separate list is important to maintain accurate holdings information for the annual reporting of library statistics and for interlibrary loan. The authors created a systematic way of building a scoped biomedical eJournal list based on titles indexed in major biomedical databases. The scoped eJournal list is active on the HHSL website, and there is a systematic process in place to maintain and update it.
