Reducing Postpartum Hemorrhage: Oxytocin vs. Uterine Massage After Delivery
Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal mortality world-wide. Each year, about 14 million women experience postpartum hemorrhage. This raises the PICO question for this research: In postpartum women, how does the use of uterine massage after delivery compared to use of oxytocin decrease postpartum hemorrhage occurrence? The purpose of this research project is to investigate if uterine massage or oxytocin interventions works better than the other to reduce postpartum hemorrhage.
