National Production Authority (1950-1953)
The National Production Authority was established within the Department of Commerce on September 1, 1950 by Executive Order 10161 of September 9. 1950 and pursuant to the Defense Production Act of 1950 (64 Stat. 798). The Authority was abolished by Departmental Order dated October 1, 1953 and its functions transferred to the Business and Defense Services Administration (C 41) of the Department of Commerce.
