Report on the Wastewater Treatment Biosolids and PFAS Connection

The objective of this report would be to provide with specific examples the need for the characterization of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) compounds from high potential sources (such as landfills and "beneficial Reuse" projects) that utilize wastewater treatment plants for leachate treatment. This provides recent samplng data from NGO sources that indicate that wastewater biosolids are expected to have these "forever chemicals" associated with cancer and non-cancer health effects. This report elaborates that PFAS compounds would be expected to be even higher concentrations that may get into the environment when high potential generators are involved.
