ENT532. Lepidoptera caterpillar.

A lepidopteran caterpillar found foraging on the ground and stoped moving when disturbed. The caterpillar has a bright green body with black circles and yellow spots on each body segment and a pair of white spots on the second segment. Defense mechanism: the first segment has a hidden organ ("osmeterium" orange in color) that protruded when threatened. State College, Pennsylvania.
