Spectrophotometric Observations of the US Catalogs: MBQS Quasar Surface Densities in the Range 16.0 < B < 18.25 (1988)

The US survey for the selection of blue- and ultraviolet-excess objects and the follow-up spectro-photometric program that has produced the Medium Bright Quasar Sample are summarized. Preliminary results in the form of number counts and a redshift distribution for the MBQS are presented and compared to those of other brighter quasar samples.
