The Dual Nature of the Student-Athlete Identity

OBJECTIVES Foundation: Though there is much research done on student-athletes already, there is a large gap in data looking at student-athletes in relation to identity. Goal: The purpose of this research was to obtain a better understanding of the inner-workings of a student-athletes identity and find out if this affects the way they interact with themselves and other people. We also wanted to find out if this specific population of students would be interested in participating in engaged scholarship. Method: Exploratory online survey of college athletes.
