Epidural vs. No Epidural: The Effect on the Length of Labor

The proposed submission is a literature review that aims to answer the PICO question: In laboring women, how does an epidural compared to no epidural affect the length of labor? The purpose of this PICO question is to explore whether epidural analgesia during labor affects the length of labor in comparison to individuals who opted out of epidural analgesia. This is a relevant and important topic because women need to be properly educated about all the effects that medical interventions, such as epidurals, can have on their body and specifically on the length of labor and how this pain intervention may affect their labor plan/experience. The literature review includes four quantitative primary research articles.
