ENT 532 (2024): Trigonidiidae

This cricket was not so easy to capture. Its small size, speed, and color made it blend so well among the vegetation around it. However, its continuous call gave its position away. As I tried to capture it, it hopped from one plant to another, each time blending so well with its environment. This impressive combination of speed and camouflage raises questions about its survival strategies. Does the cricket rely more on its speed to escape predators, or is its coloration the primary defense?
