Patient to Nurse Ratios and Its Effects on Patient Mortality
The proposed submission is a literature review that aims to answer the PICO question: In admitted medical surgical patients, how does the enforcement of nurse-to-patient ratios compared to no enforced ratios impact patient mortality? The purpose of this PICO question is to evaluate whether enforcing nurse-to-patient ratios in medical-surgical settings improves patient mortality, providing evidence to guide healthcare policies, staffing decisions, and patient safety initiatives. The literature review includes four qualitative primary research articles.
