Assessing Student Perceptions of Inquiry-guided Learning Taught Through Mixed-mode Instruction
Groundwork: Little research explores student perceptions of “inquiry-guided” (i.e., student driven) learning experiences taught in a mixed-mode setting. This is necessary to aid in student success of future courses that incorporate this style of teaching.
Questions: What benefits did students associate with inquiry-guided learning? What barriers did students report while engaging in the inquiry-guided learning experience? What are some of the ways in which students think these barriers could be avoided in the future?
Approach: A thematic analysis of student reflections from Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State DuBois.
