Investigating Canopy Heat Island Effects On Building Energy Performance: A Case Study Of Seven U.S. Cities

Despite urban heat islands (UHIs) having been widely studied by the field of urban climatology, the building sector is still confronted with the lack of a professional framework for urban microclimate assessment and design implementation. To fill this gap, a parametric and architect-friendly workflow has been developed to simulate the UHI intensities inside urban canyons under the impacts of physical characteristics of built environments.
