Can College Students Differentiate Between Consensual and Non-Consensual Sexual Activity? A Vignette Study
Groundwork: Following recent Title IX rulings, discourse on the future of sexual assault (SA) policies has intensified in colleges across the nation. National data on college students’ understanding of SA is limited. This study aims to assess college students' ability to identify consent and SA.
Research Questions: 1. Can students accurately recognize SA? 2. What factors influence students’ recognition of SA?
Approach: An exploratory, self-report vignette study, embedded in a national survey of college students.
