Porous nitrocellulose membranes with improved ignition sensitivity prepared by dry phase inversion method

In this study, the effect of porous structure and store charges on the ignition performance of nitrocellulose (NC) films was studied. The porous layer-structured NC films with the porosity varying from 8 % to 34 % were prepared by dry phase inversion and then charged by corona charging. The results show that the porous structure can store charges to change the ignition sensitivity of the porous NC films. The ignition sensitivity can be improved from 6.1 J to 5.2 J after charging.
