Multidomain modeling of flexural vibration of beams

The method of using analogous circuits for modeling mechanical systems has been used for many years across multiple industries. Previous work has shown use of analog computers to model flexural bending of beams. Due to limitations of available components at the time, and creation of new finite element modeling techniques the art of circuit analogies for higher order problems was lost. This work demonstrates the beam circuit analog within modern multidomain simulation tools. Additionally, this beam model is capable of handling in-plane stress and geometric non-linearity. Results of the multi-domain model are of comparable accuracy to current finite element simulations.
