The Effects of Chronic Alcohol Consumption on Blood Pressure Levels
Chronic alcohol has been proven to cause hypertension in a variety of individuals, but what this focus will bring to light is the exact manner in which alcohol alters blood pressure levels and the effects those high blood pressure levels have on the individual. This was measured using four studies evaluating individuals 16 and older who drink more than seven drinks per week as compared to those drinking less than seven drinks per week. Results verified that chronic alcohol consumption increased blood pressure over time and exacerbates the symptoms of hypertension as well as increases the risk for an additional 200 disorders.
