While the U.S. census remains one of the best known and most useful government resources for genealogical research, state documents are also useful sources of historical genealogical information, sometimes in surprising places. This poster describes sources beyond those available via Ancestry.com (e.g., birth, death, marriage, military and land records) such as the Annual Report of Mines.
